Protection for Small Communication Equipment

The Pelican 1200 provides a rigid protective enclosure for equipment that may be exposed to rain, dust, impacts, or repeated transportation. Its size works well for satellite phones, handheld radios, tracking devices, compact cameras, test instruments, batteries, charging accessories, and similar electronics.

The solid-wall polymer construction protects the contents from crushing forces and impacts more effectively than a soft carrying bag. Stainless steel hardware and reinforced locking points support regular use in vehicles, boats, aircraft, field kits, and equipment storage areas.

Watertight and Dustproof Seal

A polymer O-ring runs around the lid to create a tight seal when the case is closed. The Pelican 1200 carries an IP67 rating, indicating protection against dust and temporary immersion in water up to one meter for 30 minutes under the applicable test conditions.

This protection makes the case suitable for storing equipment in work vehicles, boats, emergency kits, remote sites, and other locations where moisture or airborne debris may be present.

Customizable Interior Protection

The Pelican 1200 is available with Pick N Pluck foam that can be shaped around the stored equipment. The pre-scored foam sections are removed by hand to create individual spaces for the device and its accessories, helping prevent them from moving or striking each other during transport.

A typical foam set includes convoluted lid foam, a customizable middle layer, and a solid base pad. The layout can be arranged around a satellite phone, spare battery, charger, antenna adapter, or other compact components.

Compact and Portable Design

The case measures approximately 10.67 × 9.75 × 4.86 inches externally and weighs 2.75 pounds with foam. Its compact size makes it suitable for carrying by hand or placing inside a larger equipment bag, vehicle compartment, or storage cabinet.

An over-molded folding handle provides a comfortable grip while allowing the case to maintain a relatively flat profile when stored.

Pressure Equalization

The automatic pressure-equalization valve helps balance pressure inside and outside the case during air travel, altitude changes, and changing environmental conditions. The hydrophobic vent allows air pressure to equalize while helping prevent water from entering through the valve.

This makes the Pelican 1200 practical for equipment that is frequently transported between locations or carried aboard aircraft.

Secure Closure and Storage

Two double-throw latches keep the lid securely closed while remaining straightforward to open by hand. Padlock holes allow the case to be secured with compatible locks when additional access control is needed.

The case can be used for everyday equipment transport or as a dedicated protective enclosure for an emergency communication kit.
