Lars Thrane Pole Mount (1.5” OD tube) for Antenna Unit

Fixed Antenna Installation

The pole mount provides the mechanical connection between a compatible Lars Thrane antenna unit and the vessel’s antenna mast. It fits a 1.5-inch nominal tube measuring 38.8 mm in outside diameter.

A pole installation allows the antenna to be positioned above nearby equipment and obstructions, helping provide the open view of the sky required for reliable satellite communication.

Lars Thrane System Compatibility

This mount is a standard option for antenna units used with the LT-3100 and LT-4100 series. Compatible systems include:

• LT-3100 Iridium Communications System
• LT-3100S GMDSS System
• LT-4100 Certus 100 System
• LT-4100S GMDSS Certus 100 System

Lars Thrane specifies either a 1.5-inch or 2.0-inch pole mount for these antenna installations, depending on the diameter of the available mast.

Marine-Grade Construction

The mount is made from milled aluminum with a black-anodized finish. Its antenna and pole locking screws are manufactured from A4 stainless steel for corrosion resistance in marine environments.

The mount should be inspected periodically with the rest of the antenna installation, particularly where it is exposed to saltwater, vibration, and weather.

Installation Considerations

The mount attaches to the antenna unit and is secured around the mast using its locking screws. The screws must be tightened according to the torque values in the applicable Lars Thrane installation manual.

The mounting location should provide:

• A clear view of the sky
• A stable mast with the correct outside diameter
• Adequate clearance around the antenna
• A cable route without sharp bends or strain
• Access for inspection and servicing

Only the antenna mounting hardware specified by Lars Thrane should be used with the supported antenna unit.
