Description
Portable Satellite Communications
The docking station, handset, antenna, power equipment, and audio components are organized inside a large transport case. This allows the system to be moved between vehicles, field offices, emergency sites, and remote work locations without permanently installing a dock at each location.
Privacy and Hands-Free Audio
When the privacy handset is resting in its cup, calls can use the case’s external speaker and microphone for hands-free operation. Removing the handset provides private listening and speaking for standard satellite calls. The dock includes echo cancellation and full-duplex audio processing for clearer hands-free conversations.
During Iridium PTT operation, audio can be received through the privacy handset, while transmission is controlled using the convenience key on the docked Iridium Extreme PTT handset. The system also supports standard voice operation when the phone is switched out of PTT mode.
Integrated Backup Power
The PB configuration adds a rechargeable UPS battery, allowing the dock and installed phone to operate when vehicle or AC power is unavailable. The battery can be recharged from a wall outlet or a 12V vehicle supply, making the system suitable for temporary and mobile deployments.
External Iridium and GPS Antenna
The magnetic-mount dual-mode antenna provides separate Iridium and GPS connections through a 5-meter cable. It can be placed outside a vehicle, building, or temporary shelter where it has a clearer view of the sky, while the case remains in a protected and accessible location.
