Rechargeable Battery for Regular Radio Use

The RB5V is designed for everyday operation of compatible V100 and SR203 handheld VHF radios. It provides a rechargeable alternative to the LB4V primary lithium battery, which is reserved for emergency use and GMDSS carriage requirements.

Using the RB5V for routine testing and training helps preserve the capacity and intact activation tab of the radio’s emergency battery.

Compatible with V100 and SR203 Radios

The battery pack fits the Ocean Signal safeSEA V100 and compatible ACR SR203 and SR203A GMDSS handheld VHF radios. It attaches directly to the base of the radio and locks into place using the radio’s battery-retention mechanism.

It is intended only for compatible radio models and should not be substituted for batteries with a similar appearance or voltage.

Dedicated Charging System

The RB5V can be placed directly into the RC1V charger or charged while installed on the radio. The charging cradle indicates charging status through its LEDs and can be powered by the compatible AC adapter or a suitable 12V DC supply.

Only the recommended RC1V charger should be used. The radio and battery must be dry before being placed in the charger, as the charging unit is not waterproof.

Built-In Battery Protection

The pack contains two lithium-polymer cells connected in series with integrated protection circuitry. Its sealed construction is designed to protect the cells during normal radio use, charging, and storage.

The battery should not be opened, punctured, crushed, short-circuited, or exposed to fire. Damaged or swollen batteries should be removed from service and disposed of according to local battery-recycling requirements.
