Hands-Free Calling for Installed Systems

The Deluxe Junction Box adds an amplified speaker and external microphone to a compatible SatStation Iridium 9555 cradle. This allows calls to be managed in hands-free mode while the satellite phone remains secured in the dock.

The system is intended for vehicle cabins, vessel interiors, offices, remote facilities, and other locations where the Iridium phone connects to an externally mounted antenna.

Clearer Audio in Noisy Locations

The included 10-watt speaker provides louder call audio and an amplified incoming-call alert. Echo cancellation and background-noise filtering help improve voice clarity, while the external microphone can be positioned closer to the operator in noisy working environments.

Vehicle Integration

The junction box supports vehicle ignition sensing and automatic stereo muting. When properly installed, the vehicle audio system can be muted during a satellite call, allowing the external speaker and microphone to handle call audio.

The unit operates from an 11–32 VDC supply, making it compatible with common 12-volt and 24-volt vehicle electrical systems. Professional installation is recommended for ignition and stereo-mute connections.

Required SatStation Components

The junction box does not hold or connect directly to the Iridium 9555 by itself. It must be combined with the compatible SatStation Deluxe Cradle, identified as model AT6901A, to form the complete hands-free docking system.

A compatible external Iridium antenna and antenna cable are also required when the phone is used inside a vehicle or structure. A privacy handset may be added separately for conversations that should not play through the external speaker.
