Hands-Free Iridium Communication

The SatStation Hands Free Dock is designed specifically for the Iridium 9555, allowing the handheld satellite phone to function as part of an installed communication system. Once docked, the phone can be used for full-duplex hands-free calls through the external speaker and microphone while remaining securely positioned and powered.

Clearer Audio in Noisy Environments

An external visor microphone works with echo cancellation and background noise filtering to improve voice communication in vehicles, boats, work sites, and other environments where a handset alone may be less practical. The included 10-watt speaker provides louder call audio and ringer output.

External Antenna Integration

The docking cradle interfaces the Iridium 9555 with an external satellite antenna, allowing the antenna to be positioned where it has a clearer view of the sky while the phone remains accessible inside the vehicle or structure. This makes the dock useful for mobile and fixed installations where reliable access to the Iridium satellite network is required.

Power and Phone Charging

The dock accepts 11–32 VDC input power, making it suitable for a range of vehicle and mobile power systems. While the Iridium 9555 is installed in the cradle, the dock charges the phone battery so the handset remains ready for use when removed.

Vehicle Integration

Automatic stereo muting helps reduce competing audio during satellite calls, while the car ignition connection supports integration into vehicle installations. The system is designed for use in cars, trucks, marine vessels, mobile command vehicles, and similar environments.

Voice and Data Connectivity

In addition to hands-free voice calling, the dock supports USB data transfer through the connected Iridium 9555. An optional privacy handset can also be used when a conversation needs to be moved away from the loudspeaker.
