SatStation Privacy Handset
Description
Private Calling Through a SatStation Dock
The handset allows satellite calls to be handled without broadcasting the conversation through the docking station’s external speaker. When it is lifted from the cradle, the dock’s hands-free speaker and microphone are muted and call audio is transferred to the handset.
This makes it useful in vehicles, offices, emergency operations centers, vessels, and work sites where private communication may be preferred.
Simple Call Handling
The privacy handset works as part of the SatStation docking system rather than as a standalone telephone. Incoming calls can be answered by lifting the handset, and the call ends when it is returned to the cradle. The user can switch between private and hands-free operation during compatible dock installations.
RJ45 Connection
The handset plugs into a manufacturer-installed RJ45 privacy handset port on a compatible SatStation dock. No separate satellite antenna or power connection is required for the handset itself.
Because SatStation produced several vehicle, desktop, 9555, and Extreme dock configurations, the presence of the correct RJ45 port should be confirmed before purchase.
Low-Light Operation
A built-in light indicator makes the handset easier to locate and operate at night or in dimly lit vehicle and equipment installations.
