Independent Battery Charging

The single-bay charger holds one removable battery from the original Iridium GO! device. Because charging takes place outside the terminal, another battery can remain installed while the spare is prepared for later use.

This charger is designed for the original Iridium GO! and should not be assumed compatible with the newer Iridium GO! exec, which uses a different power system and does not share the same removable battery.

Charging and Conditioning

The SatStation charger conditions and charges the battery in one process without intentionally draining it first. Once charging is complete, the unit switches to maintenance mode to help keep the battery ready without continued overcharging or overheating.

Published specifications for the SatStation single-bay charging platform list a typical full-charge time of approximately 90 minutes. Actual charging time may vary with the battery’s condition, remaining capacity, temperature, and power source.

Charging Status

Integrated LED indicators show the current battery-charging status. This allows the user to check charging progress without installing the battery in the Iridium GO! device.

AC or Vehicle Operation

The SatStation charging platform accepts 11–32 VDC input and can be operated from a compatible AC power supply or vehicle DC adapter. This supports charging at an office, operations center, vehicle, vessel, or temporary field location. The exact power accessories included may vary by package.
