Description
Hardwired DC Power
The harness supplies power from a compatible DC electrical system directly to the SkyLink terminal’s power port. It is suitable for vehicles, vessels, remote facilities, and other installations where the terminal will remain permanently mounted.
SkyLink accepts an external input of 10–34 V DC, with 12 V DC listed as the nominal supply.
Power and SOS Leads
The pigtail separates the available connections into clearly identified conductors:
- Brown: positive DC input
- Green: ground
- White: SOS connection
The SOS conductor allows the harness to support a compatible external SkyLink alert control when required by the installation.
Permanent SkyLink Installations
The 10-foot cable provides routing length between the SkyLink terminal and the vessel or vehicle electrical system. It can be used for a new installation or as a replacement for an existing DC harness.
The cable should be routed away from excessive heat, sharp edges, moving parts, and high-current wiring. Suitable fusing and electrical protection should be installed according to the SkyLink installation guide and the requirements of the host vehicle or vessel.
SkyLink Compatibility
The harness connects to the dedicated power port on the Blue Sky Network SkyLink terminal. SkyLink also supports other power configurations, including a 12 V cigarette-lighter adapter, PoE injector, and AC/DC power adapter, depending on the installation.
