External GPS Reception

The antenna moves the GPS reception point away from an internally mounted SkyLink Data Gateway. This allows the antenna to be positioned closer to an exterior surface or another location with a less obstructed view of the sky, supporting more consistent positioning data during vehicle or vessel operation.

Designed for Mobile SkyLink Installations

This accessory is intended for SkyLink systems installed in vehicles and vessels. It is particularly useful when the gateway is mounted below deck, behind a dashboard, inside an equipment cabinet, or beneath materials that can reduce satellite-navigation signal reception.

Supports Location Tracking

SkyLink systems can combine satellite communications with location and fleet-management functions. The external GPS antenna supplies the positioning reception needed by the compatible gateway, helping the system report asset location through the configured SkyLink and SkyRouter services.

Installation Considerations

The antenna should be positioned where surrounding structures create as little obstruction as practical. Cable routing should avoid sharp bends, pinching, excessive tension, and areas exposed to mechanical damage. Compatibility with the specific SkyLink Data Gateway and its external GPS connection should be confirmed before installation.
