Description
Open-Ear Wearing Style
The SP-29 rests over the ear and directs received audio toward the user without using an in-ear plug. This design may be more comfortable for operators who do not want an earbud inserted into the ear canal and allows some surrounding sound to remain audible.
Left- or Right-Ear Use
The earhook can be configured for either ear, allowing each operator to choose the more comfortable arrangement. Its open-ear design also makes it easier to put on and remove during shift changes or intermittent radio use.
IC-SAT100 Accessory Compatibility
Icom lists the SP-29 as compatible with the IC-SAT100 when used as part of a supported accessory combination. It can connect to equipment with a compatible 3.5 mm earphone output, including the Icom HM-222 or HM-222H speaker microphone. It may also be used with the Icom AD-135 earphone adapter on other supported radios.
Private Incoming Audio
Received satellite PTT communication is routed to the operator’s ear instead of playing through an external speaker. The SP-29 is a receive-only accessory and does not include a microphone or push-to-talk control.
