Description
Discreet Acoustic Tube Design
The SP-32 uses a transparent acoustic tube to carry received audio toward the ear. This surveillance-style arrangement is less visible than a conventional earbud and keeps incoming radio communication close to the operator.
Attaches to a Compatible Earphone
The SP-32 is an adapter rather than a complete earphone. To install it, the existing earpiece must be removed from a compatible Icom earphone and replaced with the tube assembly. It is commonly paired with the Icom EH-15B earphone.
IC-SAT100 Accessory Use
Icom includes the SP-32 among the compatible accessories for the IC-SAT100. The complete connection still requires a suitable earphone and compatible microphone or radio accessory arrangement; the SP-32 does not plug directly into the radio.
Replaceable Listening Component
Because the adapter is separate from the electronic earphone, the tube assembly can be replaced without replacing the entire audio accessory. This can be useful for equipment assigned to individual operators or used across multiple shifts.
