Computer and Software Connection

The cable provides a wired connection between a compatible Thuraya handset and a computer. Thuraya’s handset upgrade software includes the required drivers and uses the cable to install supported firmware updates.

Satellite Data Access

The Thuraya XT-PRO can operate as a satellite modem using GmPRS service at up to 60 kbps download and 15 kbps upload, or Circuit Switched Data at 9.6 kbps. The XT-PRO DUAL also supports satellite data through its designated USB data connection. Actual availability depends on the handset, operating system, installed drivers, Thuraya service, and network conditions.

Model Compatibility

This product is intended for the current Thuraya XT-LITE, XT-PRO, and XT-PRO DUAL handset families. The original Thuraya XT has been removed from the product name because Thuraya now classifies that handset as a legacy product that is no longer available.

The connection used by the XT-PRO DUAL for satellite data is different from the standard micro-USB connection used for cellular data. Customers replacing an XT-PRO DUAL cable should confirm that they require the satellite USB/UDC data cable.
