Description
PTT and VOX Operation
The VS-5MC places a dedicated PTT control between the IC-SAT100 and a compatible wired headset. Hold the push switch to transmit and release it to receive. Operators can also use the IC-SAT100’s VOX function when voice-activated transmission is preferred.
Compatible ICOM Headsets
The cable accepts the following optional ICOM headsets:
- ICOM HS-94 earhook headset
- ICOM HS-95 neck-arm headset
- ICOM HS-97 throat microphone headset
This allows the headset style to be selected according to the user’s working environment and communication requirements.
Built for Regular Field Use
ICOM uses an oil-resistant cable and a durable switch designed for repeated operation. The switch box provides protection against dust and splashing water, while the headset connector itself is excluded from the published protection rating.
Clothing Clip
A rotary clip allows the switch box to attach to a pocket, collar, or other convenient location. This keeps the PTT control accessible while the radio remains secured to a belt or carried elsewhere on the operator.
