The Extreme plan provides the core SPOT Gen4 satellite messaging, location tracking, and emergency functions together with the Extreme Tracking upgrade.
Extreme Tracking
2.5, 5, 10, 30, or 60-Minute Tracking Intervals
Extreme Tracking adds the 2.5-minute tracking option for users who want more frequent location updates. This is the primary service difference between the Basic and Extreme plans.
SOS Service
The SPOT Gen4 SOS function sends your GPS location to the 24/7 emergency response coordination service so assistance can be coordinated when needed.
Messaging
Check In, Custom, and Help functions send pre-programmed messages and GPS information to configured contacts by text message or email. SPOT Gen4 provides one-way messaging and should not be confused with a two-way satellite texting service.
Coverage
SPOT Gen4 uses the Globalstar satellite network. Service is available across extensive areas worldwide but does not provide complete global coverage, so the current SPOT coverage map should be checked for the intended operating area.
