This plan includes the SPOT Gen4's core satellite messaging, GPS tracking, and emergency functions together with the Extreme Tracking upgrade.
Extreme Tracking
2.5, 5, 10, 30, or 60-Minute Tracking Intervals
The 2.5-minute tracking option provides more frequent GPS location updates than the Basic plan and is useful for activities or field operations where a more detailed movement history is desired.
SOS Service
The SOS function sends your GPS location to the 24/7 emergency response coordination service to help coordinate assistance during an emergency.
Messaging
Check In, Custom, and Help messages are pre-programmed and sent to configured contacts by text message or email. SPOT Gen4 is a one-way messenger, so the unlimited messaging allowance should not be interpreted as unlimited two-way satellite texting.
Coverage
SPOT Gen4 communicates through the Globalstar satellite network. Coverage is broad but not fully global, and availability should be confirmed against the current SPOT coverage map before traveling into remote areas.
