ASE 9575 PTT Headquarter Docking Station with POTS
Description
Indoor Iridium Communications
The ASE Headquarter Dock allows an Iridium Extreme handset to be used inside a building where the phone would not normally have a clear view of the satellites. The dock connects to an externally mounted Iridium antenna while the phone remains accessible, protected, and powered indoors.
This configuration is suited to emergency coordination centers, government offices, utilities, financial institutions, hotels, remote facilities, and organizations that maintain satellite communications as a primary or backup option.
Analog Telephone and PBX Integration
The integrated POTS interface allows satellite calls to be placed and received through a standard analog telephone. It can also connect to a compatible office PBX or PABX system, extending access to the dock from another location within the building.
ASE SmartDial technology simplifies outbound calling by allowing telephone numbers to be entered in a format similar to conventional landline dialing. Compatibility with a specific telephone system should be confirmed before installation.
Voice and Push-to-Talk Support
The docking station supports conventional satellite voice calling with a compatible Iridium Extreme handset. When an Iridium Extreme PTT handset and active PTT service are used, the dock also supports Iridium Push-to-Talk group communications.
PTT operation is handled through the dock using a compatible speaker microphone or other supported accessory. A fist speaker/microphone is not included with the standard ASE-9575P-HQ configuration and must be purchased separately if required.
External Antenna Connections
Separate Iridium and GPS antenna connections allow compatible antennas to be installed outdoors with a clear view of the sky. The Iridium antenna is required for satellite communication, while the GPS connection supports location-related functions available through the docked handset.
The antennas and coaxial cables are not included with the standard headquarters dock. Cable type and maximum run length depend on the selected passive or active antenna system and should be matched to the installation.
Fixed Power and Handset Charging
The dock operates from a 10–32 VDC power source and consumes up to 12 watts. When connected to external power, it powers the docking system and keeps the installed Iridium handset charged for continued availability.
The office mounting system secures the dock at a desk, communications console, wall, or equipment station. The handset can be removed when mobile satellite communication is needed away from the fixed installation.
