Replacement or Spare Terminal Battery

The battery installs directly in the Thuraya IP+ satellite modem and provides portable power when the terminal is operated away from an external supply. Keeping an additional charged battery available can reduce downtime during remote communications, field reporting, disaster response, or temporary site deployments.

This battery is intended specifically for the Thuraya IP+ terminal. Thuraya instructs users to install only approved battery models because incompatible batteries may create a fire or equipment-damage risk.

Portable Operating Time

Thuraya lists battery performance of up to 30 hours in standby and more than one hour of continuous transmission at the terminal’s highest supported rate. These figures are reference values; transmitting data, operating Wi-Fi, weak satellite signal, cold temperatures, and battery wear can shorten operating time.

Charging Through the Thuraya IP+

The battery is charged while installed in the Thuraya IP+ terminal using the terminal’s compatible external power adapter. Thuraya specifies a charging temperature range of 0°C to 40°C and advises charging the battery only through the Thuraya IP+ rather than with an unapproved standalone charger.

Storage and Handling

The battery should be stored in a dry location away from direct sunlight, fire, and conductive objects that could short the contacts. Thuraya recommends battery storage between 0°C and 40°C and notes that rechargeable batteries generally perform best near room temperature.
