Secure Pole-Mounted Installation
The pole mount provides a dedicated platform for attaching a compatible SAILOR satellite antenna to a vessel’s mast or antenna pole. This allows the antenna to be positioned above deck equipment, railings, and other structures that could interfere with its view of the satellites.
A properly selected mounting location helps the connected FleetBroadband, Fleet One, or Certus system maintain more consistent voice and data communication while the vessel is underway.
Marine-Grade Stainless Steel Construction
The mounting components are made from chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel, identified as AISI 316 or material number 1.4401. This grade of stainless steel is commonly used for exterior marine hardware because it provides strong resistance to corrosion in saltwater environments.
The durable construction makes the mount suitable for commercial vessels, workboats, fishing boats, patrol craft, and recreational vessels where the antenna remains permanently exposed to weather and sea spray.

Pole and Mast Requirements
The mount is designed for installation on a suitable marine mast or pole. Published specifications reference a tube outer diameter of approximately 48.3 mm when used with the supplied sleeve, or approximately 52 mm without the sleeve. The vessel’s pole dimensions and mounting arrangement should be checked before installation.
The supporting pole must be strong enough to carry the antenna and withstand vessel movement, vibration, wind loading, and normal marine operating conditions.
Antenna Placement
The antenna should be installed where it has the widest practical view of the sky. Nearby radar equipment, radio transmitters, exhaust outlets, cranes, and other antennas should be considered when selecting the location.
Installation should follow the spacing, grounding, cable-routing, and obstruction requirements provided for the connected SAILOR system. The antenna cable should be secured to prevent movement, abrasion, and unnecessary strain at the antenna connection.
Practical Marine Applications
The pole mount is suitable for new satellite communication installations and for replacing an older or damaged mounting assembly. It can be used aboard vessels that rely on satellite communication for operational calls, email, weather information, crew connectivity, tracking, and remote support.
