Description
Fixed IC-SAT100 Installation
The BC-247 holds the IC-SAT100 in an accessible position for in-vehicle or in-building use. It is useful where the radio needs a designated storage and charging location rather than being carried throughout the day.
Integrated Battery Charging
The docking station charges the battery while it remains attached to the IC-SAT100. It supports normal and full-charge control, with a regular charging current of 750 mA and a preparation charge of 300 mA for batteries requiring an initial low-current stage.

The BC-247 can be installed in locations such as:

Its cradle design allows the radio to be inserted and removed without disconnecting a separate charging cable.

For installations where the IC-SAT100 is used inside a vehicle or building, ICOM pairs the BC-247 with the optional FA-S103U one-touch antenna connector and AH-40 satellite and GPS antenna. These accessories allow the radio to connect to an externally positioned antenna with a clearer view of the sky.
Removal Alarm Connection
The docking station can be wired to a vehicle horn to provide an alarm if the radio is removed under configured conditions. This feature can help discourage unauthorized removal from fleet or shared installations.
DC Power Installation
The BC-247 operates from either 13.8V or 27.6V DC, supporting installation in compatible 12V and 24V vehicle electrical systems. Proper wiring and circuit protection should be completed according to ICOM’s installation instructions.
