To meet customer requirements for installation preference, customers now have an option to choose between either FB500 with the existing wall mount BDU or FB500R with a 19” rack-mount BDU. Unlike with the current stand-alone type BDU, the rack-mount BDU is suitable to be neatly installed in a server rack configuration on vessels.
The FB500R version is built to provide a complete rack-mount solution to be installed on the same rack as the GX BDT and other network service devices. With the FB500R rack-mount BDU, users benefit by having a complete rack-mount solution for easier installation using Inmarsat’s Fleet Xpress package service.
