Features:

The Icom IP1000C is the central controller for an IP100H wireless LAN radio system. It manages radio configurations and routes voice traffic between IP100H handhelds and IP100FS computer-based dispatch terminals connected through compatible wireless access points.

Depending on the controller version, one IP1000C can manage up to 100 terminals. Multiple controllers can be linked across an IP network or internet VPN, allowing communication between separate buildings or sites. The system supports individual, group, all, and area calls, along with simplex and full-duplex communication.

Satellite Phone Store can help confirm the required controller capacity and identify the compatible radios, access points, and networking equipment for a complete Icom WLAN communication system.

Description

Centralized Radio System Control

The IP1000C directs voice traffic between registered IP100H radios and IP100FS remote communicators. It also stores terminal and group configurations, allowing administrators to manage the system from a central web interface rather than programming each radio individually.

Calling and Communication Options

The controller supports individual, group, all, and area calls. Area calling can direct communication to users connected through selected wireless access points, while the mixing function allows audio from multiple users to be received at the same time.

Simplex operation supports traditional push-to-talk communication. Full-duplex mode allows simultaneous speaking and listening when radios are used with compatible audio accessories.

System Capacity and Expansion

IP1000C versions are available for different terminal capacities, including 20- and 100-terminal configurations. Terminal totals include both IP100H radios and IP100FS remote communicators.

Up to 11 compatible IP1000C controllers can be linked through an IP network or internet VPN. With 100-terminal controller versions, the combined system can support as many as 1,100 terminals across multiple locations.

Network Management and Maintenance

The IP1000C includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports and a browser-based configuration interface. It can distribute settings and firmware updates to registered radios over the network.

Configuration data and firmware can also be loaded from a compatible USB flash drive. This provides a practical method for restoring saved settings or maintaining the controller without manually rebuilding its configuration.

System Requirements and Installation

A working deployment typically requires:

  • Icom IP100H radios or IP100FS remote communicators
  • Compatible wireless access points
  • Ethernet network and Category 5e or better cabling
  • Computer for initial configuration
  • VPN connectivity when linking geographically separated sites

The controller can operate with compatible third-party wireless access points, provided the network is configured to support the Icom system.
