Description
Portable Voice and Push-to-Talk Communications
The Bag Dock supports both the standard Iridium Extreme 9575 and the Iridium Extreme PTT handset. Once docked, the phone can be used with the included palm speaker microphone for conventional satellite calls or group PTT communications, depending on the handset and active service plan.
This arrangement keeps the handset secured in the docking cradle while providing a more natural radio-style interface for personnel working from a vehicle, command post, field camp, or temporary operating location.
External Iridium and GPS Antenna
The kit includes a dual-mode Iridium and GPS antenna with a 3-meter, or 10-foot, cable. Its magnetic base allows temporary placement on a suitable metal vehicle roof or other surface where it can maintain an unobstructed view of the sky.
Moving the antenna outside the vehicle or shelter helps maintain a more dependable satellite connection while the dock and handset remain protected and accessible inside.
Integrated Battery and Charging
A built-in rechargeable battery allows the Bag Dock to operate independently from an external power source. Manufacturer documentation specifies a 6 VDC input using the Iridium Extreme charger and lists active peak power consumption at 12 watts. The dock can be powered or recharged using a compatible AC/DC or vehicle cigarette-lighter charger.
The supplied DC power cord supports vehicle operation. An Iridium handset charger may be required for other charging arrangements and should be confirmed when ordering.
Ready for Mobile and Temporary Deployment
The canvas travel bag organizes the dock, microphone, antenna, and supporting cables in a single portable package. This makes the system suitable for emergency communications, disaster-response staging areas, public-safety operations, utilities, remote site work, and mobile teams that may need to move equipment between vehicles or locations.
The Bag Dock also provides connections that support integration with compatible third-party PTT equipment and auxiliary vehicle audio systems. Accessory compatibility should be confirmed before deployment.
