The GDB Pager is a revolution in wireless communication technology. Together with the Iridium Burst® satellite service, the GDB Pager offers the first truly global paging capability in a small, hand-held, personal message receiver. Whilst it offers the best in paging features, the GDB Pager does not operate like a typical pager. Most pagers receive messages transmitted from towers on the ground. The GDB Pager receives messages transmitted directly from a global network of satellites.
The GDB Pager is primarily designed to be used outdoors, and can receive messages anywhere on Earth where there is a clear view of the sky. However, the high-powered satellite transmissions can also penetrate buildings, partial obstructions and weather phenomenon to reach the GDB Pager.
Q's and A's
How does the GDB Pager compare with existing paging operators that offer international service?
GDB is the first and only truly global paging service. Most pagers receive messages transmitted from towers on the ground. The GDB pager receives messages transmitted directly from satellite. A subscriber may receive paging messages virtually anywhere on earth, from remote areas like the ocean or poles to populated metropolitan areas.
What locations can I send messages to?
Your message will reach customers virtually anywhere on or above the surface of the earth, including within most buildings.
How will my message be delivered?
Your message will be routed through a satellite network, which combines the global reach of 66 low-earth-orbit satellites to cover every location on the planet.
How long will it take for the message to get to the user?
Delivery time for pager messages depends on the length of the message. Most messages will be delivered within 20 seconds. If you wish to send a message to every pager in a country, then this may take a little longer.
What is the longest message I can send?
You may send a maximum of 100 characters in the first version.
How do I send a message to my pagers?
You need to have an account with us to send messages. We will provide you with all the software and services you need.
