The SP-27 routes received audio directly to the user’s ear. This helps operators monitor communications in public, shared, or moderately noisy environments without broadcasting incoming messages through the radio’s built-in speaker.
Acoustic Tube Design
A clear flexible tube carries audio to the earpiece, providing a discreet surveillance-style configuration. The lightweight assembly can be secured to clothing and worn for regular operational use.
IC-SAT100 Compatibility
Icom lists the SP-27 as compatible with the IC-SAT100 satellite PTT radio. It may be used with a suitable earphone adapter or with an Icom HM-222 or HM-222H speaker microphone, both of which support the SP-27 in IC-SAT100 accessory combinations.
Splash-Resistant Construction
The SP-27 carries an IPX4 rating, providing protection against water splashed from any direction. It is suitable for everyday field use but is not designed for immersion.
