Central Searchlight Control

The URC-103 serves as the main electronic control unit within compatible RCL-50 LED and RCL-100 LED systems. It receives commands from the wired URP-102 Point Pad and controls the searchlight’s power, horizontal rotation, vertical beam movement, and motor speed.

The controller is normally mounted near the searchlight in an area protected from direct weather exposure. It connects to the Point Pad through RG-59 coaxial cable with F-type connectors and to the searchlight through the system wiring harness.

Automatic XRCiZ Maintenance Cycle

The URC-103 enables ACR’s XRCiZ feature, which automatically moves the searchlight mechanism every 30 days after activation. This periodic movement helps keep the motors, bearings, drive components, and electrical contacts operational during periods when the searchlight is not used regularly.

The searchlight must remain unobstructed when this feature is active so that it can complete the automatic movement cycle safely.

Support for Multiple Control Stations

A compatible URC-103 installation can support up to three URP-102 Point Pads when the required splitter, coaxial cables, and connectors are installed. This allows the same searchlight to be controlled from multiple locations, such as the main helm, flybridge, or secondary steering station.

Additional Point Pads and secondary-station connection kits are sold separately.

Replacement and Retrofit Applications

The URC-103 is suitable for replacing the original master controller in compatible RCL-50 LED and RCL-100 LED searchlight systems. It may also be required when converting certain older RCL-100 installations to the LED searchlight assembly.

Compatibility should be confirmed by checking the searchlight model and existing controller before installation. The URC-103 is designed to work with the URP-102 wired Point Pad and should not be confused with the newer URC-104 and URP-103 control system.

Installation Requirements

The controller accepts either 12V or 24V DC vessel power. ACR recommends mounting it near the searchlight in a dry, protected location and following the wiring diagram supplied with the compatible searchlight system.

Eight in-line wiring connectors are included for the electrical installation. RG-59 coaxial cable and F-type connectors are required to connect the controller to the URP-102 Point Pad, but the coaxial cable is not supplied with this replacement controller.
