Unlimited Check In, Custom, Help, and SOS Messages
The Basic service activates the SPOT Gen4's satellite messaging, location tracking, and emergency functions. Check In, Custom, and Help messages are pre-programmed before use and can be delivered to configured contacts by text message or email.
Basic Tracking
5, 10, 30, or 60-Minute Tracking Intervals
Choose the tracking interval that fits your activity and allow contacts to follow your location through SPOT's mapping service. The Basic plan does not include the faster 2.5-minute Extreme Tracking interval.
SOS Service
The SPOT Gen4 SOS function sends your GPS location to the 24/7 emergency response coordination service so assistance can be coordinated when needed.
Messaging
SPOT Gen4 is a one-way satellite messenger rather than a two-way texting device. Check In, Custom, and Help messages use preconfigured message content and contacts; recipients cannot use this service as a conventional two-way satellite text conversation.
Coverage
SPOT Gen4 operates through the Globalstar satellite network. Coverage extends across much of North America, Europe, Australia, and selected areas of South America, Africa, Asia, and surrounding offshore waters, but it is not worldwide. Coverage should be checked for the intended travel or operating area.
