This Basic plan activates the SPOT Gen4's satellite messaging, GPS tracking, and SOS functions. Check In, Custom, and Help messages use pre-programmed content and can be delivered to configured contacts by text message or email.
Basic Tracking
5, 10, 30, or 60-Minute Tracking Intervals
Basic Tracking automatically sends GPS locations at the selected interval so progress can be viewed and shared through SPOT's mapping service. The 2.5-minute interval requires Extreme Tracking.
SOS Service
The SOS function sends the device's GPS location to the 24/7 emergency response coordination service when emergency assistance is required.
Messaging
SPOT Gen4 provides one-way pre-programmed messaging rather than conventional two-way satellite texting. This plan is intended for status updates, location sharing, assistance requests, and emergency communication.
Coverage
Service operates through the Globalstar satellite network and is available across many major land areas and surrounding offshore regions. Coverage is not worldwide, so users should confirm coverage for their planned destination.
